Nationwide resistance committee to be created for fighting pandemic: Palak

 



 Zunaid Ahmed Palak the state Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) marked the need to form a Covid resistance committee at the union level through  the country calling it a joint effort to tackle the pandemic.

“We have to form a corona virus resistance committee with participating people from all layers of the community as people’s joint effort might be a way out the pandemic,” he said while virtually addressing a district committee emergency meeting on COVID-19 pandemic last night.

Palak notified the online meeting that the virus infections which already created a war like situation and now the virus is spreading from town to village, and “we have no way but  impose tighter restrictions to save people’s lives.”

“People must be motivated with corona health guidelines and therefore the resistance committees will be bodied  with lawmakers, religious leaders, teachers, journalists and social elite persons in every union and municipal ward level,” he insisted in the meeting.

He also said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working 24/7 in fighting the emergency situation, appending that Covid-19 vaccines procured timely from different countries  to save lives.

the government also supplied enough food at the district level to distribute  among those who are in need.

Medical equipment, and virus safeguard stuffs supplied to the public and some private hospitals for extensive treatment of the COVID-19 patients, Palak elaborately told the meeting.

M Shafiqul Islam Shimul MP of Natore -2, M Shahidul Islam Bakul MP of Natore-1, Natore Municipality Mayor Uma Chowdhury Jolly, Natore Sadar Upazila Chairman Shariful Islam Ramjan and Baraigram Upazila Chairman Siddiqur Rahman Patwary spoke at the meeting while Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed moderated the function.
