The number of COVID-19 cases in Bangladesh hit a record daily high with death tally gone up to 220 since the outbreak of the pandemic. Newly infected number is 13,768 in 24 hours, driving the countrywide coronavirus figure to 10,34,957 till now.
"The death toll rose to 16,639 with 220 new cases added in, the second highest number of deaths in a single day," Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported in their daily briefing . 31.24% of the 44,067 samples collected in 24 hours were tested positive, and the infection rate started declining clearly.
The recovery tally lifting to 8,81,521 after another 7,020 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the same span of time.
